Your data stays yours

Ultarc is built so your study life doesn't need to leave your device. Here's exactly what we store, where, and why.

The short version

Almost everything Ultarc knows about you lives in your own browser, on your own device. Your map, your pre-test results, your study progress, your plan — none of it is uploaded to our servers. Clearing your browser data clears it.

What we collect

Account details. If you sign up with email and password, both are stored only in your browser's local storage — they never reach a server. If you continue with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture from Google to sign you in; we don't post anything or read anything else.

Study data. Your answers, levels, mastery colors, schedule, and preferences are saved per account in your browser so your progress keeps between visits.

About you. Your age, grade, classes, and test date personalize your plan. They stay on your device with the rest of your study data.

Waitlist

If you join the coming-soon list, we store only the email you submit so we can send launch and early-access updates. We don't sell waitlist emails. You can ask to be removed anytime.

AI Help

When you press AI Help on a question, we send that question, its answer choices, and (if you've picked one) your current choice to Anthropic's Claude API to write a hint. Your name and account details are not included. Anthropic processes this to generate the hint; see Anthropic's privacy policy for how they handle API data.

Cookies & hosting

We use a small number of strictly functional cookies and local-storage keys: your theme choice, your cookie preference, and — for Google sign-in only — an authentication session cookie. No advertising cookies, no cross-site tracking, no analytics scripts today.

The site is hosted on Netlify, which keeps standard server logs (like IP addresses of requests) to run the service.

Students & parents

Ultarc is built for students, including students under 18. Because study data stays on the device, a parent or guardian can review or remove it directly from the browser. Parents with questions can reach us through the Creator page.

Your choices

Delete your data anytime: log out and clear this site's browsing data, and everything stored locally is gone. To disconnect Google sign-in, remove Ultarc from your Google account permissions.

If we ever move accounts to a real database (for example, when payments launch), we'll update this policy first and say clearly what changes.
